What Could Go Wrong? Chenin '24
Angelo's 2024 exploration of the question that precedes bold and sometimes questionable decisions comes from a one-of-a-kind seaside Chenin block in Durbanville.
Grapes were destemmed and placed into an open-top fermenter for a 14 day skin maceration with a small addition of sulphur and gentle daily hand punchdowns. Once fermentation had stopped, the juice was pressed and left to settle overnight in tank before being racked into large, old barrels to mature for approximately 12 months.
This Chenin Blanc's answer to the question posed on the label is "nothing could go wrong" with a lovely lingering palate of apricot and thyme.
