Kalmoesfontein White lands as Adi's (superb) attempt to capture a season in a bottle in just one day. This sprawling field blend of a dozen or so varietals is picked at the same time and co-fermented then aged in large oak foudres and concrete tanks on the lees to yield a white wine with both depth and freshness.
Led by Chenin Blanc, this blend is lifted and expressive with an aroma of pear, peach, citrus, and star jasmine. The palate is powerful but in a delicate way. Driven by acidity and a gentle pithy finish, this one is dangerously drinkable.
