This near perfect red blend is made up of three varietals from various Swartland sites that Franco chose for very specific qualities—Grenache for structure, Syrah for personality, and Cinsault for ease and crunch.
The 30% whole bunch fermentation and tender approach to winemaking brings out the best of the varietals in an aromatic wine of lemon-rind acidity and fynbos florality that is as sophisticated as it is approachable and as delicious now as it'll be in 5-7 years.
