Cuvée Cinéma Pinot Noir '24
From a dramatic site in the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge so magnificent it was the backdrop to a film about Napoleon the year before it set the stage for this cuvée.
The high density vineyard was intentionally designed and planted with disease-free Dijon clones to produce the exceptional high-quality Pinot Noir we enjoy vintage after vintage.
60% whole clusters and 40% whole berries are fermented with native yeasts in a stainless steel tank. The wine then spends 11 months in barrel, 25% of which is new oak, before carefully selected barrels from this single vineyard are blended and bottled. What doesn't make it into Cuvée Cinéma goes into Peter-Allan's multi-vineyard blend, Peter Max.
Cuvée Cinéma's opening scene is a classic Pinot nose of raspberry, rose petals, wild strawberry, and spiced orange rind. The palate mirrors the nose with bright red fruit but is sharpened by savoury notes of oyster and soy sauce.
