Château de la Chaize Lieu-Dit La Chaize '22
In the heart of the Brouilly appellation lies a dramatic hillside Gamay vineyard rooted in porphyroid granite behind an ancient castle. To preserve and enhance the grandeur of the region, the vineyard is picked and vinified plot-by-plot.
Once destemmed, grapes were fermented for 11-15 days in stainless steel tanks and aged in oak vats for a slooooww 13 months.
The 2022 vintage promises clarity, a deep ruby colour, notes of black cherry and forest floor, and an ageing potential of 4-6 years. We've done the hard bit, so buy it now to drink it at its prime.
